What is the link between how we breathe and how healthy we are? What parts of our lifestyle increase or decrease the risk of Cancer and other chronic illnesses? What role does Optimal Breathing play in illness prevention or healing? Would you pass a breathing test? Such are the kinds of questions and answers under review here together with some further suggestions about the benefits of other natural healing methods
Let us start by saying that there is more to breathing then just sucking in air
now and again! And there are certainly advantages for health.
Preventing and healing of cancer
All of us probably know someone who is affected by cancer, whether they have
cancer now or have had it in the past or someone in their family or in their circle
of friends
At this very moment, as I write, a close member of my family has just been
diagnosed with cancer of the salivary gland that is already a stage 4 (cancer has 5 stages) which has necessitated drastic surgery and has left the muscles on the right side of her face not working. Over 20 yrs ago I had cancer of the cervix which was removed via drastic surgery and my own mother died of a cancer that had spread into the lymphatic system. An uncle of mine died of skin cancer some years ago.
So this potentially deadly disease has certainly affected myself and my dearest
ones and perhaps people you know also. However in this age of information it is now becoming more and more possible to actively particpate in our own healing and prevention as we come to understand much more about the causes and contributory factors of cancer and what we can do to support the healing process naturally and alongside other conventional approaches
With this in mind se the list below which has been compiled to show some of the major areas, activities
food and choices of how we live which are often linked with an increased risk of contracting cancer. The link may not always be a direct one but the above factors are all associated with cancer in some way.
Watch Out For The Following:
1. Fatty foods in the diet from fatty meat. A consistently high fat, high protein diet
2. Too much coffee, tea and fizzy drinks
3. Aflatoxins i.e fungal products found in foods like peanuts and soya
4. A diet that doesn’t include a sufficient amount of minerals, vitamins and iodine
5. Nitrosamines and amines which can be found in food that has not been refrigerated, in processed meat and
cheese
6. Sluggish colonic movement
7. Overeating (associated in 35% of all cancers) and being overweight
8. Certain types of mushrooms.
9. A diet that includes too many sugary and refined or processed foods
10. History of any previous cancer
11. Diabetes
12. Early sexual activities - particularly cervical cancer
13. gene history, the family you come from, what sex you are, your occupation
14. Estrogens
15. Some hair dyes
16. Chronic infections, viral flu, colds, rashes and diarrhea
17. Drugs such as antibiotics, aspirin, water tablets, immunosuppressants,
amphetamines or antihistamines
18. Excessive drinking and smoking
19. Excessive exposure to chemicals in the environment, industrial fumes,
solvents, asbestos and hydrocarbons
20. Prolonged stress, depression, unexpressed anger
21. Over exposure to cold, heat and radiation.
22. contaminated and not so pure drinking water.
23. Consistently poor or shallow breathing
All of these factors when taken either singly or as a whole can overtax the body’s ability to cope and lead to an increased risk of toxemic conditions and to acidosis which is an environment in which anaerobic organism thrive.
If you have poor breathing it may not cause cancer directly but since cancer is
anerobic and is unable to thrive where there are high concentrations of oxygen, anything
that brings more oxygen into the body and blood is good. Poor breathing patterns can seriously affect your physical health as well as your
emotional and mental wellbeing.
Oxygen acts as a natural antibiotic so what better action can we take than to learn how to breathe at optimum levels
To have the best chance of success with any cancer program, make sure you
practice and develop your breathing.
How Good is YOUR Breathing?
Take the F.REE Breathing Test and Evaluation!!
How well or poorly we breathe will have an effect on whether or not we suffer from heart attacks, cancer, asthma, bronchitis and so on. So are peak performance such as in activities requiring mental acuity, athletics, acting, speaking or singing.
Crab-like cancer
The origins of the word, cancer, lie in the Latin term for ‘crab’. Cancer was
described by Hippocrates as a ‘crab like’ illness, who observed that cancer, by
nature creeps and spreads throughout the body, eventually bringing death. Now cancer is more usually defined as an uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in the body. In fact cancer is a general term that covers more than one disease, more like a hundred, however what is common to them all is the action of abnormal cells multiplying uncontrollably.
because cancer is anaerobic it is unable to survive in the presence of oxygen. This explains
why the one organ that buckles under stress, the heart, in fact nevr falls victim to cancer. The heart absolutely thrives on a good supply of oxygen.
How Optimal Breathing Helps
Deep breathing exercises fill the lungs with a plentiful supply of oxygen enabling the body to work at full capacity for optimal health and giving the best chances against contracting more serious diseases such as cancer
The thing to remember though is that as the body uses its oxygen supply it also produces, as a by product of the process, lots of free radicals which themselves can cause damage and this is where antioxidants comes in.
What antioxidants do
Antioxidants which are present in some foods slow down or reverse the oxidative damage to our
body. They work at eating up or mopping up the free radicals and through this action they prevent or repair any potential or actual free radical damage.
Antioxidants can be gained from taking vitamins through food or supplements, mainly carrots, fruits, cabbage, nuts, fish, grains, eggs and some superfoods such as Acai Berry and Saw Palmetto.
Other common antioxidants include flavonoids from pomegranate and purple grapes, lycopene from tomatoes, lutein from dark green vegetables, and lignan from oats and rye
Natural Alternative Treatments
More alternative treatnments which can support healing from cancer include inner cleansing
destressing, elimination of parasites, changing negative into positive thoughts, optimism and self confidence. Lowering stress and Changing one’s attitude has a direct bearing on theimmune system and five of the best ways to do this are laughter, daily positive affirmations, listening to relaxation music, walks in nature and various meditative practices
Being too hypervigilant, usually connected to some past trauma which puts the body on hyperalert, or thinking negatively
feelings of guilt, putting blame onto others, being over critical of self, in combination with poor
hygiene and toxic overload can create an environment that invites a flood of
unfriendly bacteria and other organisms into the body. Eventually the body’s immune
system, electro-chemical and energy system and the body’s vital life flow becomes
overwhelmed by overload, blocks and chaotic disruptions. All of this may encourage cancer
and other serious conditions to take hold.
EFT and Tapping
This popular discovery relies on a process of light tapping on some acupuncture points (without the needles) to release any blocks caused by stress and past trauma.

It is a process that you can easily learn and apply whenever you are in pain
To summarise
A positive attitude, good nutrition, proper breathing and body energy balancing
protects you from cancer and other serious illnesses. Remaining relaxed and calm is preferable to being angry or having consistent feelings of guilt. Optimal Breathing can contribuite to a lowered risk of cancer, healing of cancer already present and better overall health. The more time you spend breathing optimally and with a positive outlook and feelings of empowerment the healthier you are likely to be. These are skills you can develop and practise
